Joint Commission’s Gold Seal Of Approval For Advanced Certification As A Primary Stroke Center

Uniontown Hospital is a certified Primary Stroke Center and has earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Certification as a Primary Stroke Center.

The Joint Commission recognizes centers that make exceptional efforts to improve results for patients with stroke. This certification signifies our dedication to fostering better outcomes for patients suffering stroke.

The gold seal was awarded after a Joint Commission expert reviewed our program for compliance with the requirements for the Joint Commission Disease Specific Care Certification program, as well as the collection of stroke data and using it for performance improvement activities.

Providing exceptional care for patients suffering stroke is just part of our commitment to provide the best care possible for our community. Our team of health care professionals is committed to providing prompt diagnosis and treatment, which is especially important in stroke care.

Time is critical when dealing with stroke. The sooner you receive treatment, the better your chances of recovery. With those parameters as a guideline, the stroke team at Uniontown Hospital is able to quickly respond, evaluate, and deliver lifesaving, clot-busting medication within the vital three-hour window of opportunity for optimal recovery.

The hospital also meets nationally-developed standards for stroke care set by the American Heart/American Stroke Association and the Brain Attack Coalition.
